Thank you Mr. Staab. For letting people know that they may care about our children after all. I didn't know you were part of the people that ran SRCA if I would of known that I would of just came to you.

Scott, have you called Hank about this? He said in several drivers meetings that if anyone had concerns about anything to call him or the track phone and leave a message. I've called a few times over the last few years and have always got a timely return call.

Thank you Mr. Staab. For letting people know that they may care about our children after all. I didn't know you were part of the people that ran SRCA if I would of known that I would of just came to you. He isn't. The matter was brought to attention. Just because they haven't jumped on here doesn't mean they don't care so don't play that card. They have regular jobs like everybody else, fair chance haven't been on message board. My dad personally contacted one to bring to light, so they would discuss. They know something has to change so just be patient, things will be corrected so kids are safe.

I wouldn't suggest going over their heads with out talking to them first (outside of here). Could just cause more problems. It seems to me that the track people are very safety conscious and will want to fix this.

There was no drivers meeting at this race which there should of been since there were three times the amount of Jr cars there than what is normal. I think this will be taken care of now from what I understand.

Thank you Darrel and Tyler for standing up and saying what needed to be said... Hank has and did say he would not reply to anything put on the internet.. so , if they would had been at the drivers meeting on aug. 10th they would have known that, instead of getting on here and letting it get out of hand.... I know for a fact they care about the kids, that is why Hank called NHRA and ask them what to do about the jrs returning back to their pits should be handled, and he did what they said.. If it does not work IM sure the board will do what has to be done to make it safe for not only the kids, but for all drivers and spectators.

I have been a member of SRCA for many years and have never felt the need to log on until now. Every driver's safety is extremely important and especially the young people that are the future of the sport we all love. The SRCA Board and staff are the most safety minded organization I have ever been associated with, I trust my life to them each time I go down the track. There is always room for improvement and the SRCA Board is always open to ideas that will improve safety for the driver's and fans at the track. Get together, discuss the issues and come up with a solution that improves our track. The message forum is not the place. Thanks LA.

But we were not at that meeting and at least 8 other Jr's were not at that meeting either. They know the car count and you would think someone would of noticed that and had another meeting. I'm telling you what when you have a car flying up on your child in the dark it is a whole new feeling. I just started this thread to bring the attention on what happened. It was not a gripe it was a serious concern to Me and my boys that had the crap scared out of them. You can say what you want to but untill this happens to you, you DO NOT know what I am feeling!!!! I'm not sure but i dont think the return road has a as fast as you want to go return policy. Cause when I swerved out of the way that car was long gone for me to even see who it was LUCKY for them. Lets just keep everyone safe please!!! And like I said in previous post I herd this was being looked at and I am happy to finally hear that. This is a world of media now this is how people in their busy lifes communicate. Not often in life anymore do people talk they text,PM,email

I believe the speed limit is 15 mph for the whole facility, might be lower than that, not for sure, but I wish you would of seen who it was, and went to Arlen, Hank, or the starter, and told them, and they could handle the situation from that point... The good thing is no one was hurt, and they are going to look at it and figure out what can be done about it...

I prefer to talk in person. In text,PM,email you lose too much, on what is meant and how to take it that has created problems.

As being a junior competitor at SRCA for 6 years, I will voice my opionion on the matter. I 100% agree with the juniors running to the big end, in my later years of junior racing we actually ran the car all the way to the end and someone would pick me up with the golf cart or four wheeler. It always caused confusion with the track staff when I would run all the way to the end but in our opinion it was the easiest and safest way of doing it.. There have been way too many nights when the car would leave the staging lanes to roll into the water box that a junior returning down the side road would be clearing out from the "blind spot" behind the ambulance and almost hit a car pulling into the water box. Makes everything quicker for the juniors and also for the big cars to keep them happy. Scott, as for the safety side of it, yes I will admit that the big car guys seem to haul a little butt down the return road, and it sometimes is even people that really should know better, but last I knew NHRA required a flourescent flag attached to EVERY JR DRAGSTER WHILE BEING TOWED and I know that you have a tail light on your car other wise you wouldnt be running anyhow, so turn the tail light on, or do as we did and put 2 tail lights on, (just incase one went out was a back up and also brighter towing back at night)... your golf cart or four wheeler should also have tail lights/ headlights to help with the problem... And yes we as the juniors are smaller than the big cars and you wont get some of the big car guys to change their ways, so if you have to, move over. Youre the small little cars, run on the far right side towing back and PAY ATTENTION JUST AS YOU WANT THEM TO PAY ATTENTION. Regardless of what happens to your procedures at the track, I will be back out at the track with my nephew racing one of my old juniors next season and we WILL go to the far end and tow back just because of personal preference. But make sure if the kids do run to the far end that they know to get all the way over and out of the way before they stop... Now that im out of juniors and working on the top alcohol cars when youre at the far end wrapping shoots and pulling couplers, prepping for the tow back people in your way can be a be problem. Sit down with all the kids and parents/siblings/crew members and discuss ahead of time and make sure everyone is familiar with the procedures, as long as everyone knows what is going on and is willing to make it work then it will be safe!!
