*EDIT* THE STREET CAR SHOOTOUT IS A HEADS UP RACE. 1ST ROUND IS TO SET THE FIELD BETWEEN FAST/SLOW.
It's almost that time again! Sammy is putting on his annual playday on Saturday, July 18th. This is one of the premier events to attend for most of us street guys. In addition to some fast race cars, this show usually has a good turnout of really fast street cars as well. Sammy is switching it up this year with a round-robin style race. All refueling/bottle changes and such must be done in the staging lanes, NO stopping between the finish line and staging lanes is permitted! Sammy hails from Garden City, and usually gets most of the guys from that area out to his event as well.
This event will consist of two events. Test and Tune will be held all day from 1-9. The Street Car Shootout will be started at around 6 p.m. Sammy plans to run the TNT guys during the shootout as well that way those who don't enter aren't all standing around.
The Street Car Shootout race uses a set of rules very similar to SRCA's currently adopted set for Street Legal Style Drags. Check the link below for exact rules. Also, the actual shootout will be using a PRO tree. Sportsman will be used thoughout the day during test and tune, then switched for the race. I believe the main reason PRO is used is because it's similar to what most of us may be used to on a street race with armdrop, and it's kinda different if you're not used to racing on it!
If ya can't make it out to race, at least come watch and make some new friends! The Walking Taco's at the concession stand are well worth just coming out!
