Back in July I was talking to Sammy Matthews about this. He informed me of just about the same information, that funding was in place and the land was purchased. Said something about breaking ground in the next couple of months.
I haven't heard anything since then.
As far as good/bad, in my opinion I think it would be a good thing for the guys out west that have to travel so much to get here. Not saying anything at all bad about SRCA, we have a great facility here no doudt. I enjoy going to other dragstrips now and again, and think it would be cool to travel out there once in a while.

Well if that does actually get built and running (skeptic, heard same thing for awhile) I do think for the benefit of both tracks scheduling should be built around each other. If we overlap schedule it will hurt car counts both places. It would be nice to have another track closer than 110 miles (KID).
Just my two cents, Junk Yard Dog

Last I heard they are trying to have the track complete by the 2011 season. Ground is bought and city approved. Heard this from a racer in Mead, ks

I think it could be a very good thing for the drag racers of the area. Another option can't hurt, especially on the weekends that SRCA is not having a race.
