I just see the car count being really low that day...lots of people go and spectate at the nhra races! I have been going to nhra topeka for 9 years, and never has srca raced the same day...

I know we try to go to e.t. finals every year, no we have to decide to go to topeka, or stay here and run the ponits race!
Koron are you not gonna race the national event in Topeka?

Doesn't matter to me. If SRCA has a race, I'll try to be there. If they don't, I might go to Topeka and watch the big boys. Fun for me either way.

NHRA did not have their dates in stone when we had to go to the city with ours. They were still messing with the Western swing and at that time Topeka was not on that date, when they finalized their dates it was. Division IV also put their Lucas race on top of ours since Memphis is not running one. They did that even after we had our dates to NHRA and I was told that on Sunday from Rob Park during Pomona when he found out. The unfortunate thing about that is Memphis did not run top alcohol and Dallas does. If we move the May race now there would not be a points race in April or May. The date in May was the only one open. Kinda sucks when the track sits in the middle of the Expo complex. If you would like I would be more then happy to e-mail you the entire city calender of events for the Expo complex. The date we gave to Sammy was one we held for the Ford cats. I did not remove those from the city calender just in case of this situation arising that did not pertain to a points race. Please remember the 3I show is in Great Bend next year and there is GREAT story behind that. Call me sometime and I would love to fill you in on it.
Hank

Well sorry but my .02 cents on this says it stinks - for those that wanted to participate at the Nationals and those that wanted to attend the Nationals.

This is what I'm getting at, thanks Jill No we don't race the nationals, but we run at SRCA and in order to make the et finals you have to perform well at SCRA. So if you miss a race, it makes it a little harder. This is not to mention...you have a race the same time at Denver has their NHRA race. I know you can't work around every nhra race, but these are the closer ones that people from this area attend! Crewchief

A quick note to let everyone know that the May 21-22 race has been moved to May 28-29 due to the task of rebuilding the facility after the 3I Show May 5-7 which usually takes a minimum of 7-10 working days with favorable weather and secondly to realign with NHRA's ever changing 2010 schedule and not be on Topeka's National date. The July 23-24 date was also moved to July 16-17 for the realignment around the MOPAR Mile High Nats. Schedule home page is current with dates.
